Hi, I’m Betta
I’m a London-based artist who believes art should make you feel something.
My journey started with doodling on school desks (sorry, teachers) and secretly enrolling in comic school—my mum only found out when the bill arrived at the end of the month!
At first, my parents encouraged me. But when my grades started slipping, they made me stop. Art was a “distraction,” they said.
That hurt. But it also made me more determined.
I couldn’t wait to get to university—finally, a chance to choose my own path, to prove that art wasn’t just a hobby but my calling.
I studied animation, discovered my love for painting with acrylics and watercolors, and spent every spare moment in life drawing classes, developing the bold, colorful style you see today.
The real turning point? My first job customizing hand-painted sneakers in Camden Town.
Watching someone’s face light up when they saw their personality transformed into wearable art—that’s when everything clicked. This was it. This was what I was meant to do.
My Style
My colorful portrait style emerged from countless life drawing sessions at university, sketching friends every single day. I’m inspired by the bold expressionism of the Fauves and Matisse, the dreamlike worlds of Chagall, and the raw energy of Jackson Pollock. I work with acrylics, oil pastels, charcoal, and spray paint - whatever the piece demands.
Every portrait I create is about capturing energy, not just likeness. The colors aren’t realistic—they’re emotional.
They’re how someone makes you feel, not just how they look.
Why I Create
The moment I truly understood the power of art as a gift was when I painted a breastfeeding-inspired piece for my sister’s daughter’s baptism.
Seeing her reaction—the tears, the joy, the appreciation—showed me that art isn’t just decoration. It’s memory. It’s love made tangible.
That’s what drives me now. Whether I’m creating custom paintings for birthdays, or anniversaries, or painting live at sip-and-paint events across London, I’m making moments matter.
I’m helping people give gifts that say “I see you. I celebrate you.”
What I’m Working Toward
My favorite piece? A large-scale canvas painting that now sits at the entrance of my family home in Salerno, Italy. Every time I visit, I see it greeting everyone who walks through the door—a bold, colorful statement that says “this is who I am.” Creating that piece, working at that scale, feeling the freedom of going BIG—that’s what I want more of.
More large canvases. More pieces that command attention. More color in the world.
But for now, I’m here in my London studio, turning your stories, your loved ones, your memories into art that makes you stop and smile every time you see it.
Let’s create something meaningful together.
